Welcome to my online portfolio
I am a communications strategist and brand governance expert with more than 20 years' experience:
While this portfolio offers a broad range of writing and editing samples, it is neither comprehensive nor exhaustive. If you don't see what you're looking for, click "Request a Sample" below. I likely have what you're looking for in my archives.
Industries I've written for: Airline/Travel, Beauty/Cosmetics, Bridal, Direct Sales / MLM, Fashion / Luxury, Finance / Accounting, Franchising, Health Care / Health Insurance, Hospitality, Employee Engagement Programs, Pharmaceutical, Real Estate, Residential & Small Business Security, Sales Incentive Programs, Telecommunications.
In addition to writing and editing, I can handle all of the following: Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat Pro (PC and Mac); Microsoft Office (PC and Mac); SharePoint; basic HTML; and I work in Adobe Illustrator on occasion. I also understand that SEO is not keyword stuffing.
I possess broad knowledge of traditional typography (e.g., I know things like why you should only use a single space after periods and colons and why underlining is never the right move, and I can spot a poorly kerned period or registration mark from across the room). I will correct errors you don't know you're making, but you will see and appreciate the difference when I'm done.
I have experience working with a variety of content management systems, including WordPress and Joomla. I also possess a solid understanding of copyright/trademark law as related to marketing and corporate communications (so I can help you protect your intellectual property and avoid making costly mistakes), and have conducted large-scale communications audits.
My mantras:
- Writing, editing, and managing the process of creating marketing, corporate, executive, employee, and customer communications;
- Building brand and style guides and creating compliance policies around their use;
- Ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications
- Using my knowledge of typography and trademark law to produce communications that serve as far more than a means of delivering a message, generating clicks, or qualifying sales leads;
- Building and maintaining document libraries that require frequent, ongoing updates to meet regulatory requirements;
and . . . - Figuring out ways to do things I've never done using the skills and tools at my disposal.

My mantras:
- Anything worth doing is worth doing right.
- Quality and speed are not mutually exclusive. When you've mastered a skill, you can perform it quickly and with precision. That is the value of experience.
- Work smart from 8 to 5, go home on time.
- Any problem can be solved by using common sense.
